The failing economy is on the top of almost every persons mind these days. Purchases are made more carefully than ever and the purchase of a tuxedo is not to be excluded.

Events such as proms, award ceremonies, and weddings will eventually force even the most cautious of consumers to have to wear a tuxedo. This article was written to help these people feel better about their inevitable purchase.

Determining whether or not to rent or buy can be a tricky topic during normal economic days. However, during a down turn you must know that rental companies cannot lower prices without cutting costs somewhere else.

Some vendors will use last years tuxedos in an effort to save money on replacing old inventory. This is great for the vendor but not so great for you.

Retailers always try to bring inventory levels down as fast as they can during troublesome times. Lower inventory levels lowers their storage costs. Use this to your advantage and buy a tuxedo for 50% of what you might have spent in previous years.

While shopping stores in an era of massive store closings that you may not be able to bring your tuxedo back after you buy it. This is not a problem as long as you do your due diligence and buy the perfect tux the first time.

As you can see buying a tuxedo is probably your best option in the buying vs renting debate for the year 2009 and possibly even further. Resist the temptation to go with a rental just because you want the advice of the sales representative.

Learn everything you need to know on your own. You do not need a sales representative when you have so many valuable sources online and in libraries to give you the information you need.
