Barking Dog Advice

To bark at a stranger is a good service to a dog's owner. To bark at a falling leaf or the setting of the sun is a nuisance. Usually this incessant, unnecessary barking is because the dog is bored and is being neglected. It is not trained and has been allowed to become a problem.

Some cities have rules against barking dogs. It is bad to allow any animal to disturb the peace and quiet of the neighborhood. If you are the owner of a barking dog, there are ways you can amke your neighborhood peaceful.

If you are the dogs owner, remember it is always easier to train in a good habit than it is to train out a bad habit. So start your training early. If the dog barks, while playing or to protest being confined, command him very sternly to be quiet. Tell him no and gently but firmly hold his muzzle shut to show him what you want. Remember to teach not to punish.

If this doesn't work and it looks as if the dog is going to continue his bad habit, get close enough to him while he is barking to squirt him in the face with a fine stream of water from your garden hose. Don't use too strong a stream, for you do not want to injure the dog. If he is startled enough, he will give up the barking.

The longer you let your dog get away with bad habits only makes it that much harder to stop. So try to give your dog a little training time each day. Never leave your dog tied up all the time.

Your dog may not like being tied up, and will bark as soon as you leave home. If this happens, tie him up where you want to keep him. You may have to leave your home and drive around the block or park up the street and walk home. If you find the dog barking, startle him with a big noise and command no!

A dog barking while staying in the house can also be a very annoying. If the dog barks in the house, try and make him think you have left. If he begins to bark again, go back end tell him no. You might have to startle him by thumping on the door.

After you have tried this approach, play with the dog outside for a while then bring him back indoors and attempt the procedure again. If your dog stays in kennel or crate, and he barks, you can startle him by hitting the top of the crate. Remember to give the command no immediately after you scare him.

It doesn't really matter what kind of dog you have. They all can bark if they get bored. Your dog's bad habits can be changed, however, for a dog will not keep doing something if he has made uncomfortable.

The most vital thing to keep in mind is to try to keep your pet from starting bad habits in the first place. Try and pay attention to him. Your dog is your responsibility to care for, and you must avert him from being a problem to your neighbors.

Catskill, NY Mountain Thunder Motorcycle Festival 2008

Most of us know that when the first settlers came to America they where following a dream! What most do not know is that many of those dreams where inspired by paintings of the Catskill Mountains. At the beginning of this country's history artists where mesmerized by the beauty of these mountains and painted many pictures of them. These pictures where sent and sold all over the world and they had a large part in creating what later became know as the American dream.

Fast forward a couple Hundred years to September 10th through the 14th 2008 and now what draws hundreds of American Bikers every year to the Catskill Mountains is the Blackthorne Resort in East Durham and the Catskill Mountain Thunder Motorcycle Rally. This event which is a weekend get away for some and a week long party for others has just about everything a biker dreams of. Even though the Blackthorne Resorts grounds are large, they do fill up fast and Bikers reserve there Cabins, RV sites or Camp sites up to a year in advance just to make sure there is room for them on the grounds. (There are plenty of other resorts in the area who welcome the Biker overflow from the Blackthorne) Me and my Brother Mopar Tom arrived on Thursday Night and the first thing We did was to check out what seemed like a million vendors, Who where selling every thing from Motorcycle pins to fully Custom Motorcycles.Then of course it was time to grab some cold beverages. First drink was at the Tikki Bar by the large in-ground pool. The Second was at the Blackthorne's on premise full service bar. Not wanting to over do it on my first night there (I would save that for my second night) I called it an early night at around 2am and was off to get some shut eye.

On Friday the fuse was lit and the weekend festivities got into full swing. I spent the entire day wandering around the Blackthorne checking out everything, drinking and partying with Hundreds of brand new and old friends. As the sun set and the Night began things just got even better! I watched Bikers take their Motorcycles up in the air and do Ariel Burn outs as I listened to the Music of Molly Hatchet LIVE !

The Nights at Blackthorne Run late and the Mornings come early! Some Choose to start their days off riding around the incredible Catskill Mountains, either in a group on a guided tour or by themselves with no destination at all. The roads in the Catskills go on forever and even after many years of riding them each trip still offers something new ! My favorite spot to ride to has been for many years Nicks Waterfall House in Gilboa, In my opinion no ride threw the Catskills is Complete with out a big burger and a beer at Nicks!

Others who don't wake till the afternoon can spend their day's at the Blackthorne checking out the vendors buying new Biker gear,Watching Rhett Rotten and his amazing vintage Wall of Death Motorcycle stunt show, Looking at the art work of Ron Finch,Placing their votes for their favorites in the Bike show, participating in the Bike games or enjoying a list of many other wickedly fun Biker activities. Saturday Night again offered Bikers more then they could handle plus Female Spaghetti Wrestling, Live Ultimate Fighting bouts, Lots more live music and plenty of late night partying. On Sunday some Bikers headed home while others hung around for another day of fun including a pig roast!

I have been a biker all my life and to this day the bond of Brotherhood that is shared by bikers still stuns me. I'm not sure if the fact that the Blackthorne is a family resort every other week of the year has anything to do with it, But I found the feeling of Brotherhood and Family to be very strong at this event. When I can hangout and party with Bikers I have just met and feel like I have known them for Twenty years, It strongly reinforces all the reasons I love being a Biker!

I have intentionally left out a lot of great things about the Blackthorne and its Catskill Mountain Thunder Motorcycle Rally, The reason for this is because if you missed this event you do not deserve to know all its secrets until you have attended it for yourself !!! A job is the best teacher when it comes to teaching responsibility on handling money. A child is more likely to put more value on cash that they earned with their hard work as opposed to money they had just by asking. The Auto Industry Bail Out

I ask what is going on here in the USA? I am not a financial genius and I could be wrong but this is the way I see it. First we bailed out the banks because they gave out too many bad loans. These people who are financial geniuses gave out loans to people who could not afford them, hoping things would get better and the people could pay their Bills. Basically what they did was gambling. Its like me going to Las Vegas betting over and over on red figuring it will come up eventually and when it never does and I lose all my Money. I then go and ask for all of it back plus more! The Banks who gave the Mortgages where given a bail out of around 600 Billion Dollars so they could stay in business. Now as I have read for around half of that the Government could have paid off all those bad loans and helped poor American Families keep their homes. If all the bad loans where paid then would not that take care of all the Banks problems? Instead they gave super rich bankers who mad bad choices lots of Money so they can continue to make the same decisions that failed before and live their incredible lives that most of us can only dream about.

Now we have the same thing going on with the Auto industry. I do not understand why we would bail them out. It seems to me that if you run a business and you fail, well then you fail. Aren't these the same auto makers who over charge us for their cars? I can not believe none these manufactures can make a car that will last much longer and run on less gas or some other type of cheaper fuel. The Auto industry and the men who run it have been a major controlling factor in the world for many years. Aren't these the same Auto Tycoons that we have heard stories about them keeping all the new smaller car companies from starting up or "buying up" any competitor who comes up with a better Motor Vehicle for over the last half century? The story of Tucker and his dream of making a better car for hard working Americans, Was that not a true Story?

If these Auto Companies where left to go out of Business many Americans who work at these Companies factories would lose their jobs. I do care and understand that it would be very hard on them. Right now is a tough time for all Americans. But I believe that before the dust could even settle from these companies collapse, We would have many small car manufactures starting up making much better cars at lower prices. These cars would last many years longer then the current ones we drive and I can only guess would run much further on a gallon of gas or some other cheaper fuel source. I would bet that fuel would be much better for the environment. Soon after with the huge super powerful big Three of the auto industry no longer in control and maybe crushing any small start up auto manufacturers, We would have hundreds of small car companies all across the Country and soon many more jobs for everyone along with much better automobiles to drive around in that burn cleaner fuels. Who knows maybe we could even get those dam flying cars we where all promised as Kids!

This is a hard time for this country. I think it is evident in the choices the American people have made as of recent, that we now know we can no longer have the same people in power making the same mistakes. These companies and the people that have been controlling this Country have lead us down this road. It looks to me that now that we have reached the end of the road and there is a cliff. Those that have been leading us are now asking us all to trust them and jump off that cliff and fill in the gap so they can walk over us and allow them to continue leading the way !

The idea of this country has always been if you can build a better Mouse trap you can become a Millionaire.What it looks like to me is these people did not allow any one else to build a better Mouse trap. Then they sold the only traps available making them so they would last only a short time, While charging a real high price for them. It has got to the point where the people can not afford to buy new Mouse traps when the old ones brake and have decided they will either try to fix the old ones or just live with the mice. They need their money for other things more important then new Mouse Traps. Now like in the case of the auto Companies they are asking the Government to give them the Money the people can no longer afford to spend on their products.

Now is not the Money they are asking to be given the hard earned Money the Government has taken from the same people in Taxes who can no longer afford to buy these products! These Companies are getting the hard earned Money of the American People who can no longer afford to buy these over priced Vehicles, That last a much shorter time then the ones made 50 years ago. Now our Government who has been over taxing us for years is thinking about giving away 15 Billion dollars of our money.

What charities and programs are we going to have to cut so these Auto tycoons who have houses all over the world, Their own private Jets and pretty much anything they have ever wanted continue to get richer? Will this money come from our Schools? What about the Hungry Children of the USA? What about all those people who are out of work and those that are going to lose their homes the banks are foreclosing on? I bet 15 Billion dollars could really help them out.

America is the land of dreams. It is the Country where a man can be poor one day and rich the next if he has a good idea. There is nothing that says if you have a great Idea and then you make a Mistake and lose everything the Government will bail you out! We are not helping the poor Auto factory workers here, They most likely will loose his jobs any way. We are only helping the Rich Auto Tycoons to be able to pay for all their many luxuries! Do I think our Government will bail them out? Well to that all I have to say is take a look at who funded many of today's politicians campaign and then you will have your answer?

Ways To Stop Kids From Spending Too Much

These days, more and more kids are falling for marketing tactics that encourage them to spend more of their money on things that they see everywhere. Expensive clothes and hi-tech gadgets are just some of the things that you'd find on every other kids' wish list. Believe it or not, your role as a parent is actually vital if you want to teach your child about handling money responsibly. There are a lot of lessons about being a more responsible and discerning consumer that only you can impart on your young ones and this is something that they would be able to use until they've grown up.

You have to show your children that money doesn't magically appear on trees and that you actually have to work hard to get some of it. The best way for them to learn this is by having a job on their own. If your kids are old enough, tell them work hard for money or start a business of their own in Texas craft shows. Kids appreciate money more if they worked hard for it.

Save up. Sit your kids down and talk to them about having a savings account. Tell them that saving up is not an act of masochistic deprivation, but an act of insightful preparation. Another great idea is to teach them how to budget their cash. Those are only a few ideas on how to teach your kids financial responsibility. But don't forget, the best way to lead is by example, so don't go preaching all these around to your teens and then indulging in whole day shopping sprees for yourself.

The last event that many travel to is the Hockey World Championships. Again, this is a world championship that many in the United States, Canada, and various other countries attend. The best in the world compete for the ultimate title of "World Champions."

The Olympics

The Olympics is the most watched event and has the highest live attendance throughout the course of the event. Many countries from around the world compete in both the summer and the winter Olympics. Some of the sports such as basketball and hockey are commonly televised sports. However, there are other sports such as track and field, volleyball, swimming, and softball that aren't usually televised as much. The 1st Banning of a Motorcycle Clubs Colors in the USA

I can not expect those who are not in a Motorcycle Club to understand what this really means! Twenty years ago this would have struck fear into the soul of every US Citizen! Today I am sure most, probably, will not even hear about it and those that do will probably not care! What has happened to the good ole USA?

I can not believe this is actually happening, I have been writing stories on this for years. Part of me had always hoped I was just being paranoid or that all the Motorcycle Clubs would some how come together on some level and work out the problems. I have been getting emails on how the Story I wrote last year called "Taken from a History book in the year 2095" does not sound so far fetched any more?

Are there Criminals in Motorcycle Clubs? We hear about Drug dealers, Rapists and Murderers in the NFL and NBA all the time. When was the last time you heard of a Biker running a Dog fighting ring? Can a Judge just ban the Logo of a Sports Franchise if its Members are involved in some kind of Criminal activity? You may be saying No because its different. Well I say it is only different because they haven't done it yet! There are the same problems in Motorcycle Clubs that there are in all organizations. The Police force has much more Criminal Activity going on in it then all the Motorcycle Clubs put together! Only Difference is they can bury the Truth! When it comes to Motorcycle Clubs and criminal activity the big difference is, The legend of Motorcycle Clubs is we are America's bad boys and it just sells so dam good.

This law can not be allowed to stand!!! I am sure some Sport Bike Clubs and AMA Club's feel they have nothing to fear! I am sure many are thinking this has nothing to do with them, Its only the Outlaw and 1% Clubs! They are thinking this isn't about us "we are the good guys". This always happens this way, take down the top level's first! The other levels will make excuses as to why it is not their fight and stand aside. All Bikers must join the fight now because once they are done with the Outlaw and 1% Clubs, Who do you think they will be looking at Next? Once the Outlaw/ 1% Clubs are gone there will be no one left to come and help when they come for you!

I am pretty sure this is still the USA and this is completely against everything this Country was founded on and stands for! We all must ask, If this ruling is allowed to stand what Motorcycle Club will it be next? Will it be yours? What will the reasons be that they will use to ban your Clubs patch ? Will Jay walking be enough? Is that too ridiculous? How about if your an MC member and you get caught with a bag of pot? Is that enough? Will there have to be two Members involved? Three? What reason will they need to ban your Motorcycle Clubs patch?

When Motorcycle Clubs start having their Colors banned many members will start or join new Clubs, Because that is what we are, Motorcycle Club Members! Soon the government will realize this and then Ban Motorcycle Clubs all together! Any one who thinks their Club is not at risk is only kidding themselves! The time to unite and try to work together was yesterday! Today we have no choice but to ban together and fight for or right to survive. Tomorrow, it will be too late!

Even if some how all Motorcycle Clubs can come together and work to win this fight, It is just the beginning and there will be many more rounds to come. If we are to win this fight we MUST at least make it to the 2nd round, Then we will have a Minute to pull ourselves together!!!

The History of Grotrian Pianos

Many people are not familiar with the history of this famous piano manufacturer, but it`s a fascinating one. This German company is still going strong and consumers have come to expect top quality from them.

An Idea is Seeded Friedrich Grotrian of Grotrian Pianos, got his start quite innocently in Moscow where he worked at a piano manufacturing company. After 25 years of selling pianos, Grotrian headed back to his homeland, Germany, where he became a partner in a fairly small manufacturer in the 1950`s and continued to work and live in Germany.

Friedrich died in 1860, passing his portion of the company on to his son, Wilhelm. Just five years later, Wilhelm and the Grotrian-Steinweg family took full proprietorship of the business.

Quality Production Yields Results Because Grotrian-Steinweg was such a conscientious company, offering top quality instruments, it wasn`t long before even the most elite in society found it necessary to own one of their pianos.

Royal families purchased Grotrian pianos, awards were given and famous musicians and composers were found to use the top notch instruments. The family keeps a record book which details the awards and thanks given them over the generations.

New Blood In 1885, Willi and Kurt Grotrian entered the family business and these two young men were key in moving the business forward into the next century. The business moved to a factory in Braunschweig, Germany and from this vantage point, continued to excel in the production of modern pianos. Is your house equipped with rain gutters made of copper? If so, congratulations-in many ways, copper may be the ultimate material for rain gutters. It is stronger than aluminum, has a beautiful finish when new, withstands the effects of weather well, does not deteriorate under the attack of UV rays from the sun, and gradually develops a beautiful green or gray patina over a period of years. In addition, copper rain gutters can last for 75 to 100 years or more.

Even though you might have beautiful copper rain troughs adorning your house, by itself copper does nothing to avert the major bane of all rain gutter owners: cleaning out the gutters. The wind and rain carry all kinds of stuff into rain gutters. Every spring there are tree blossoms, to be followed in the fall by leaves, nuts, and seeds, sometimes accompanied by twigs, dirt, and bird nests. This collection of things may attract various kinds of insects. The debris may then block the gutters and downspouts, resulting in water overflowing the gutters, dripping down the walls, and eroding your yard. If you are really unlucky, the water may find its way into your basement.

To avoid these problems you probably need to clean out the rain gutters several times a year-unless you install a gutter protection system to keep all that debris out of your rain gutters in the first place.

There are many different kinds of gutter protection systems available today including gutter guards, gutter covers, gutter screens, and gutter filters. All of them are intended to let the water drain into the rain gutter while keeping the debris out. Adding gutter protection will eliminate the need for cleaning out the gutters up to four times a year and avoid the other kinds of damage that might occur.

In selecting a gutter protection system, most people will choose a product made of the same material as the rain gutters. The usual materials are galvanized steel, aluminum, and copper. Because the majority of home gutter systems are not made from copper, some of the gutter protection systems are not available in copper, but there is still a wide selection from which to choose.

Two styles of gutter guards are available from most companies. These include the Leaf Out Gutter Guard and the GuttaGard brand. The Leaf Out Gutter Guard comes in 4-foot lengths and is available to fit either 5-inch or 6-inch gutters. The GuttaGard brand also comes in 4-foot sections and is currently available only in a 6-inch gutter size.

Although not constructed of copper, another option for use with copper rain gutters is the GutterFill Gutter Filter. This is open cell foam shaped to fit the inside of the rain gutter and is available for both half-round and K-style rain gutters. The top of the foam material is level with the top of the gutter and is not visible from the ground. The foam is particularly effective in preventing virtually all foreign material from entering the rain gutter. The leaves and other debris will come to rest on top of the foam and be washed off by rain or blown off by wind. The manufacturer really believes in its product. To help make it profitable when working with small companies, insurers will often require a certain percentage of employee participation before they'll agree to cover the organization (usually 75% or greater). Depending on the frequently-changing regulations, there are not always minimum participation requirements before an insurer must cover small business and provide its employees with health insurance in Texas.

Very small companies may be required to get buy-in from 100% of their employees regarding participation before an insurer agrees to work with them on a group plan or they may be forced to choose an individual or family plan for their health insurance in Texas. Because of the high costs of health insurance in Texas, it is best for employees to be covered under a company group plan rather than an individual plan. This can be difficult for small companies with very few employees.

When a small business has a small number of employees participating in a group health insurance plan in Texas, they are usually all required to have the exact same plan. Larger companies can offer employees choices as far as co-pays and deductibles, but the smaller business may have to require everyone to be on the exact same plan.

No matter what size the company is, it is against the law for any employer to require an employee to participate in a health insurance plan in Texas in order to keep their job. It is also illegal to disqualify an employee for insurance coverage due to their age, gender or health conditions they may have.
