I have made a small selection of the movies released this year (2008). This list consists of the movies that I think you might like. Hopefully you will see a couple of movies that are good viewing.
ROLE MODELS: Danny (Paul Rudd) and Wheeler (William Scott), who sell energy drinks, are facing jail time after trashing the company truck. The way they can avoid going to prison is to work in community service for 150 hours. The problem is they will need to mentor some kids in a community service program. The pieces are all in place for this to be very funny.
TWENTY ONE: Twenty One basically recounts an amazing true story of young college kids who created a team of blackjack players that beat the casinos. This team of blackjack players planned, trained, and executed a ruthless attack on the tables. To play in Las Vegas, where card counting can get you banned, they created false identities, and used complex signals to avoid detection. This movie is based on the best selling book that tells how the M.I.T. teams took it to the casinos.
WANTED: Wesley, an office worker going nowhere in life, learns that the father he never knew, is a professional killer. His father is killed, and now he is being recruited into the secret society of killers that his dad was a member of. He is asked to become the asassin that is in his blood. From there, things get complicated, and many twist and turns follow. Enjoy this roller coaster ride.
IRON MAN: Man of the town, arms builder, Tony Stark is captured by insurgent fighters in Afghanastan. They command him to build missiles for the insurgent group. He was injured when his convoy was attacked, and he has shrapnel lodged in his chest. To survive his injuries, and make his get away, he develops a suit of armor, which protects and strengthens him. Iron Man is born.
THE DARK KNIGHT: In this film Batman, along with Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, have been taking down the criminal elements of the city. Things are going very well, that is until the Joker shows up, and attacks the city. Now, Batman really has his hands full, as the Joker has unleashed his criminal insanity on Gotham City.
MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA: As the title suggests, this is the next in the sequence to the big hit film Madagascar. Our cast of lost animals, Alex (Lion), Marty (Zebra), Glorial (Hippo), and Melman (Giraffe) are attempting to leave Madagascar, and go back to New York's famous Central Park Zoo, from their first adventure. Instead, due to the Penguins, they are off to Africa, for more adventures.
THE CHRONICALS OF NARNIA, PRINCE CASPIAN: It is one year later, in their normal lives when, the four saviors of Narnia, Lucy, Susan, Peter, and Edmund are mysteriously pulled back into Narnia. Running for his life, Prince Caspian has blown the magin horn, in a desparate plea for help. In Narnia, 1,300 years have passed since they were Kings and Queens, but they have been called back to save Narnia from the evil Telmarines. With the help of the the bravest in the forrest, including, a dwarf, the centaurs, and a very skilled mouse, they will fight for the future of Narnia.
INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL: The Indiana Jones movies are back, after a 19 year hiatus. This is the fourth movie about the adventures of Indiana Jones. In this episode Indiana is pitted against post war Soviets. The Soviets are looking for some South American relics, and the secrets they carry.
WALL-E: This film is a science fiction adventure in animation. Everyone has been removed from Earth because it had become a big pile of trash. Wall-E, a robot built to remove trash, has been left behind to clean up the planet. When Eve, another robot, arrives looking for signs of life on Earth, Wall-E is finally not alone. When Eve is retrieved by the spaceship that sent her, Wall-E stows away, and begins an exciting new life.
Many people will buy films when the come out on DVD, and watch them at home. A more recent method for getting films is through downloads from online sources. Online providers have websites that will download almost any film you can think of.
