By Qandishah Brown

Kentucky has certainly become synonymous with one thing and that it fried chicken. Thanks to the name of one of the most popular fast food franchises that we have today. Just the mention of this brings to mind the crispy yet juicy fried chicken that we all enjoy. Whether you like the spicy or original flavors nothing will ever beat having a Kentucky fried chicken. Though this fast food has branched out to many other places, there are still a lot of other delicacies you can try in Kentucky State.

Aside from chicken another thing that you will find in Kentucky is seafood. Though it seems unlikely for this state to produce such things you will find it here; thanks to the subtropical climate that the state has. Kentucky caviar, lobster and shrimp are some of the seafood that are readily available in supermarkets. These are packed and ready for cooking. You will find these in supermarkets or even exported in other places.

Burgoo is another Kentucky dish that is very interesting. This is a stew that is made from mixed meats and vegetables. It will normally have at least three different types of meat and a variety of vegetables. All these are simmered down until they become liquid and nothing is recognizable. This dish is normally cooked in large quantities; so you can find Kentucky folks standing on chairs and stooped over large pots at cook outs stirring their burgoo with a rake.

You will find many other interesting dishes that Kentucky has to offer. One of the best places to go to discover these things are the craft fairs and festivals. Here you will be sure to find something home made. Whether it a different sort of pie or preserves. There are also numerous other handmade offerings at these events.
