Clean Beds for a Clean Sleep

by Stephan Thomlinson

Just imagine all of the microscopic creepy crawlies that choose to call your bed their home. If you already have a newer mattress then this may not be an issue, however even after as little as 6 months, if you do not sanitize that mattress you can attract all types of mites and bacteria into your bed every night.

Mites and dander!

As you sweat at night while you sleep, the bed absorbs it and eventually it will create a perfect breeding ground for bed bugs, or mites as they are known. In order to prevent this, you need to sanitize your mattress every 6 months or so.

The asthmatic bed!

If your bed is not regularly sanitized and these mites, dander and dust is allowed to move in, then you can develop respiratory issues. Furthermore if you already suffer from asthma, you can make things a whole lot worse for yourself.

Stain, Stain, Go Away!

So you have a stain and you have tried to sanitize the bed but that satin is still there. Is it just a stain or much worse? This stain could be preventing the mattress from breathing and allows for all types of dangerous bacteria to move in. This is why replacing the mattress at a minimum of 8 years is very important.

Good Will thrifting!

If you cannot afford to purchase a new bed and have been contemplating getting a used one from a thrift store, then make sure that it is still in great shape and that you sanitize it before bringing it home or you could be inviting a world of germs and bugs into your home.

Mattresses and acne breakouts!

When we have to deal with acne, sometimes something as simple as replacing the pillow cases on a daily basis can greatly reduce those breakouts. But you can reduce them even more by making sure the bed, and all of its bedding are cleaned on a regular basis.

One can never overemphasize the importance of sleeping on a clean bed. While the bed may appear to be clean, ask yourself if it has been regularly sanitized. Chances are that it has not and without this regular cleaning, the bed will wear down and fall apart sooner as well as put you into contact with mites and other bugs and bacteria. Save your health by making sure your bed really is clean.
