Lots to See on a Wilderness Travel in Tanzania

By Peter Plantier

In Tanzania, more land is under wildlife and wildlife conservation work than in any other country in Africa. So a taste of Tanzania invariably must in part be a taste of wilderness travel.

What is there to see?

Many come to Tanzania to see and climb Kilimanjaro mountain. With its amazing scenery and surroundings, this is Africa's highest mountain.

National Parks and Game Reserves- some of the game sanctuaries are so vast and so remote, that there are places that are virtually still untrod and just in their original form. Elephants, lions, buffalo, hyenas, zebra, giraffe and all other varieties of African wildlife can be seen here.

The Serengeti National park is known world over for research on ecological conservation. It is where the big annual Serengeti-Maasai Mara wildebeest migration begins.

The Mahale Game Park is on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. Here you will find the world's largest concentration of chimpanzees.

The coast on the shores of the Indian Ocean has also much to see. Zanzibar island and the surrounding islands are home to a very rich cultural mix dating back many years to the days of the slave trade and the spice trade. The Swahili Arab influence can be seen in the Stone City of Zanzibar.

What is there to do?

Camping Safari are special in Tanzania. Camp outdoors with campfires under open skies and listen to the sounds of the animals.

Leave camp every morning and take a walking safari to track game, another fun activity of wilderness travel in Tanzania.

Zanzibar Island and Pemba's idyllic beaches are famous as honeymoon spots and for great water sports. Here you can crown your wilderness travel safari in the interior by coming to the sun ,sand and sea.

Try the wilderness travel in Tanzania, you cannot be disappointed.
