<h2 class = 'uawtitle'>Hidden Gifts at Alabama Craft Fairs</h2><div style='font-style:italic;' class='uawbyline'>by Wendell Oswald</div><div class='uawarticle'><br />In Alabama, we are proud that there are a lot of fairs and festivals. Off hand, I'd have to say that the National Peanut Festival is one that immediately comes to mind. It is celebrated during the harvest season and is something to honor the peanut growers. And, like similar events, the festival is also chock full of interesting activities like rides, and outdoor amphitheater and others.<br />

The craft show exhibits are one of the more exciting things in the National Peanut Festival, as well as in the other fairs around Alabama. It is where talent from all over the Heart of Dixie congregate to set up booths and show off crafts and artworks. If one wishes to find something of interest, this is definitely the place to be.<br />

Maybe you yourself have an interest in the arts. Perhaps you have been dabbling in your craft in your spare time, but are afraid of showing off the products of your efforts. Whether it be a skill with a paintbrush or a talent for carving wooden sculptures, you should not be afraid to share your art, for they should be rightly admired. Who can tell? You may even bring in a decent amount of money from it.<br />

It's a good idea to join a craft show, and see what other talented people have to offer. You may feel unsure at first, and that's normal; if you want to build up your confidence, start by visiting the booths and observe the works of other people. You might even be able to integrate their ideas in with your own and produce better crafts. But, in any case, do not be held back by your own fear.<br />

I really suggest that you go out there and show the world your talents. God has created and gifted every single one of us with a purpose. The arts are far-reaching and you'll never know if you were able to touch someone and change a life for the better without ever knowing you did. What are you waiting for?
